There is a quote I look to often when I am uncertain about what comes next or how to make sense of the path in front of me.
It’s from Maya Angelou, someone with unending wisdom and grace.
Here it is:
“If you have done the best you can do and if you have gotten all you could extract from something, you have given all you had to give, then the time has come when you can do no more than say thank you and move on.”
Today, I am writing to thank all of YOU. For the past 6 months, you have celebrated the stories of Boston with us while watching our team find our footing and experiment with programming we’ve never tried before. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to hit “pause” on a mission that has represented the best of our city for over 6 years.
There is no playbook for how to operate in a pandemic and I am proud of what we accomplished in a time when it felt impossible to move forward. The Manifest Boston team gave their hearts and souls to building this vibrant community. It will live on long after we are done curating and convening.
This is the right decision for our company, but it is heartbreaking nonetheless. I looked forward to our early Thursday mornings and seeing your faces. I was inspired by your resilience and vulnerability when we told your stories. And I am incredibly thankful to have met all of you and seen firsthand how you are building the New Boston.
I hope our paths cross again. You can find me on LinkedIn, and I look forward to connecting with you. As for your stories, I’m all ears.
